Description
A COMPLETE SET OF TESTS THAT CHECK: •Levels of androgens (such as testosterone), which are often elevated in women with PCOS. •Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) and the calculated Free Androgen Index, indicating how much active testosterone is available in the body. •Key reproductive hormones (FSH and LH) to assess ovulatory function and detect hormonal imbalance. •Glucose and insulin levels to evaluate carbohydrate metabolism and possible insulin resistance. •A full lipid profile (total cholesterol and fractions) to assess metabolic and cardiovascular risk commonly associated with PCOS. •Thyroid function markers (Free T4 / TSH), as thyroid disorders can mimic or worsen PCOS-like symptoms. •HbA1c, a long-term marker of glycaemic control and diabetes risk. WHAT THIS TEST SUITE REVEALS: •Whether there is a hormonal imbalance consistent with PCOS. •Signs of ovulatory dysfunction or disruption in the menstrual cycle. •Presence of insulin resistance or altered glucose metabolism. •Long-term risk of developing diabetes through HbA1c measurement. •Overall cardiovascular and metabolic risk via the lipid profile. •Potential thyroid dysfunction that may contribute to or mimic PCOS symptoms. •A comprehensive overview of hormonal and metabolic health to help confirm or rule out PCOS and related conditions.
